NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — April 17, 2018 — The Sheridan Road Charitable Foundation held its eighth Songwriters in the Round event last week at the historic Standard Club in Nashville. In a celebration of Nashville’s rich songwriting culture, Kelley Lovelace, Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano performed some of their over 60 combined #1 hits and shared stories about writing with stars like Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Brett Eldredge, Brad Paisley, and Thomas Rhett. The seated dinner returned the Songwriters event back to its roots of a smaller, more intimate setting, where the stories were heartfelt, the comedic interplay appreciated, and the songwriting front and center.

The benefit raised approximately $50,000. The proceeds will benefit charitable organizations such as Oz Arts Nashville, a contemporary performance space that inspires a diverse program of performing and visual arts events. The mission of Oz Arts tightly fits with the Sheridan Road Charitable Foundation’s mission of providing creative educational opportunities for under-resourced education. Daniel Bryant, President of the Sheridan Road Charitable Foundation, and Tim Ozgener, President of Oz Arts, both shared poignant, self-reflective remarks and thanked attendees for their contributions toward impactful change in Nashville.

“Tonight’s benefit follows in the Foundation’s footsteps of hosting the Songwriters event in historic locations such as the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and now here at the Standard,” said Daniel Bryant. “We also look forward to a long-term collaboration with Oz Arts and helping to be at the center of arts, education, and creativity in Nashville.“
